TrialNet

The Joslin Diabetes Center is one of 18 clinical centers around the world participating in Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet. TrialNet is a group of studies looking at the development, prevention and early treatment of type 1 diabetes.
There are two types of studies being done by TrialNet:
- Natural History Studies which will learn more about what causes type 1 diabetes
- Diabetes Intervention Studies which will test new treatments to delay or prevent the onset of type 1 diabetes or to preserve remaining insulin secretion in newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes patients
Patients with newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes, as well as relatives of people with type 1 diabetes are needed for these studies.
